With turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and warm pumpkin pie comes another common component of the anticipated holiday meal. Wine or various other alcoholic drinks are often paired with the hearty meal. Some might even feel that the holidays just aren't the same without enjoying an alcoholic drink.
There is nothing wrong with having wine or another drink with dinner. In fact, there it's okay to have a few during a Thanksgiving celebration. But a necessary reminder during this time of year is that no one should drink and drive. El Paso officials will be on the lookout starting tomorrow for anyone who doesn't heed that obvious rule and will go after them for drunk driving.
According to the El Paso Times, local police will begin enforcing its No Refusal program throughout the city tomorrow at 10 p.m. Officers will be more readily able to get warrants in order to collect blood samples from suspected drunk drivers who refuse to submit to a breathalyzer test.
This, authorities hope, will not only prevent drunk driving accidents but also scare people out of driving under the influence this holiday. Sadly, it still probably won't be enough to prevent all DWI accidents from occurring on Texas roads.
If you or someone you know becomes the victim of a drunk driver's carelessness, don't hesitate to seek legal help. An experienced and aggressive personal injury attorney would help you try to collect the damages that you think you deserve as result of injuries caused by a preventable crash.
Have a safe and happy holiday.
