Most of us have probably been to a circus at some point in our lives. People seem to either love them or hate them. One thing is certain for a woman who was injured in a Texas truck accident: She doesn't like the circus that rear-ended her vehicle a couple of years ago.

According to the Southeast Texas Record, in October of 2009, a woman was driving east on Texas Highway 154 when a rear-end collision interrupted her commute. Anyone who gets in an accident likely is some sort of surprised, but imagine looking behind you after the collision and seeing a big circus truck.

Sources report that the truck driver who allegedly caused the crash was speeding at the time of the collision. He rear-ended the unsuspecting driver's sedan, damaging not only her vehicle but the quality of her life. That is when it can be right for an accident victim to file a personal injury suit, which is what this victim reportedly did in Texas earlier this month.

She is suing for an unspecified amount in damages, and her lawsuit targets not only the tractor-trailer driver but the trucking company and circus that relied on his work as well. The personal injury allegations include the following and more. The driver failed to maintain a safe distance between his truck and the car ahead of him and failed to brake in time. The trucking company and circus are being sued for negligence in hiring a reckless and unlicensed driver.

Commercial drivers need to be the safest on the roads. They have so much weight in their control that can do significant damage if handled recklessly. In this specific truck accident, no one sustained fatal injuries, but we all know that such scenarios often end up differently. Suing for negligence can help prevent similar and possibly fatal accidents by the same driver or companies in the future.
