A job can be more than what brings in a person's income. It can be dangerous -- especially for those who work in the construction and industrial fields. A worker for the prominent Dallas-based company Texas Instruments died in a workplace accident because of such danger.
NBC Dallas-Fort Worth reports that the 54-year-old TI employee worked in the chip fabrication unit of the company. He went into work on Monday but, sadly, never returned home. He was reportedly injured by glass from the worksite. Further details of the recent industrial accident in Texas are still undisclosed, but it is indicated that the TI worker didn't survive his day on the job.
Most of us have to go into work nearly every day. It's a matter of supporting our families, hopes, dreams and living up to the debts that we owe. Just as workers get compensation, pride and perhaps a sense of community from their place of work, they should undoubtedly be provided an environment of safety.
Sure, there are dangers that come with various lines of work, but employers have a duty to create the safest work environment possible. They owe that to workers who sacrifice so much of their time and effort not only for their well-beings but for the well-being of the companies that they work for.
For that reason, it's crucial that the current investigation into the recent Texas work accident is thorough. The findings regarding potential negligence in safety precautions could prevent a future accident like this one from happening and inform any surviving family of the accident victim whether there is reasonable cause to sue for wrongful death as a result of their loss.
