Sadly, it is no surprise that motor vehicle accidents happen every day. Many of them are minor and leave no injury or death in their wakes, but others cause devastation that is difficult to comprehend. The destruction that a severe crash can cause goes beyond damage to a car or even loss of life. There are friends and family members left to live with the loss of their loved ones to others' carelessness.
One Texas man is living with the pain of having lost not one, not two, but three people to a tractor-trailer accident in September. He has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the trucking company that employed the driver supposedly responsible for the accident and the three deaths that it caused.
According to The Southeast Texas Record, the plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages for the various forms of loss and suffering that the 18-wheeler wreck allegedly caused him, including court costs, funeral costs, mental distress and more.
Of course, even if the plaintiff gets a significant amount in damages, the reality still remains that death is permanent; he won't get his loved ones back. What can be a painful point in traffic fatalities is how easy they often are to avoid. That is part of the reason why this plaintiff and others like him have great reason to sue drivers and/or their employers.
In this case, the plaintiff accuses the trucking company of failing to properly train the driver and other related forms of negligence. Making sure that those who are hired to drive commercial vehicles have clean driving records and the skills to safely share the road is a must. Wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits can help send that message.
