It is important for every driver on the road to understand and follow traffic laws. It isn't just for their own safety, but it's for the safety of others around them. Every moment that someone is behind the wheel can make a difference in a person's future. A Texas truck accident proves the difference that one moment can make.
All it takes is a couple of seconds for a driver to fail to stop at a stop light. Mistakes like that often end up in fatal crashes. In the case of a recent Texas accident involving a tanker truck, no one died. But two drivers did need to be taken to a nearby hospital, and the fire that the crash ignited easily could have led to more tragedy.
According to reports, the collision occurred in Mineola last Thursday. A truck driver carrying a load of milk through Texas from Louisiana reportedly ran a red light and was hit by another vehicle whose driver was simply following the rules of the road. He had a green light and, therefore, should have safely been able to proceed. Instead, a reported traffic violation by the trucker caused the unsuspecting motorist to crash into the truck's fuel tanks.
It was a recipe for potentially fatal disaster. The collision turned into a fiery crash site, bringing in various response teams to get the dangerous situation under control. The severity of either of the drivers' injuries is not disclosed.
Officials are still investigating the crash, meaning that the trucker is not currently facing any legal charges as a result of the accident. If authorities do see that negligence played a role in the accident and the victim's injuries, it is only natural that the truck driver could become the target of a personal injury lawsuit.
